Everybody wants to leave their mark...some kind of indication that they too, walked the very same surface your steps tread now..
But how do you get there? What does it take for your footsteps to distinguish themselves from others? Is being plain good simply enough? Not many are remembered for being merely good. They're known for being great. Mighty and terrible and wrathful, perhaps, but great all the same. They knew what they wanted : glory. And they got it. By whatever means possible.
But how does an ordinary person such as yourself, get recognition. How does your memory go on living, even when your body and mind have died? I'm not much. I'm compassionate, and I have a big heart, but that doesn't really account for much. You don't see many grave stones with epitaphs saying "Here lies ____, a good man"
You want to be remembered? You've got to be great. You've got to have something nobody has but you.
How? I have no idea. Comment if you have any clue

ReplyDeleteokay first off I'd like to acknowledge that you've a wonderful blog. Keep up! about the query well I happen to be on the same wavelength as you but I do have something to say from the little experience I've derived in my short life, although I don't think it's going to be a wholesome answer to the question but I'll give it a shot..
ReplyDeleteRecently, I've been completely out of touch with life. I'd to cut off from people and confine myself to my room so as to improve my GPA which btw still remains less than is required but I've began to see the change anyway though my friends would agree how I've always been a bit of a loner, it's actually now that I've come to learn that it pays to spend time alone and does a great deal to help one stay ahead in the game.. this is not about how it's been like for me but the point I'm trying to make here is that solitude on the face of it, is often approached negatively and the idea of it is thought of to be as something of an ailment and is treated with derision. However, if truth be told, it is the one factor.. a common denominator if you will, if we look into the examples of all those successful people who've left their mark behind, I think you'd agree, they'd spent most of their time alone which allowed them the liberty to run their imaginations wild, apply their knowledge and experiment with confidence ..something they'd have rather feared doing otherwise, after all they were people just like us but we also know for a fact that such had all been iconoclastic and intransigent in a way that they believed in what they dreamt to achieve and solitude for one, laid them the ground to let them apply themselves assiduously to the pursuits which engaged their interest in due course, brought the best out in them and possibly did more than we can make out to help them achieve their goals. They did, hence they live and solitude (among other things), I believe, had its hand in making them as you put, Great.
i don't believe i could do solitude though.. =/ i couldn't do it,i'm sure of it. i just want somebody to turn and remember my name someday.thats about it.i just have no way of getting there.and ive spent hours and hours looking up at the mountains where my house lies and wondered how i can possibly get as high up as they are but im just a big blank on that one =/
ReplyDeleteya well somethings are just hard to tell but they're a matter of time till the manifestation comes about. You have the will let's hope you have your way too! all the best to you.
ReplyDeleteYou gotta do what others haven't. Don't just think on it, ACT on it . You think astronauts are remembered for thinking about going to the moon or actually going?
